For Teens
Being a teenager can feel overwhelming—balancing school, friendships, family, and figuring out who you are. It’s normal to feel stressed or unsure about the future, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.
JC provides a safe space where teens can explore their thoughts and feelings, gain insight, and develop skills to handle life’s challenges. With 20+ years of experience working with young people and having collaborated with 1,500+ schools as a nationally recognized school culture expert, he understands the pressures teens face at school, home, or in life. JC works alongside his clients to help them find support, confidence, and discover their path forward.
For Guys
Many men carry the weight of pressure, responsibility, and expectation—often feeling like there’s no room to slow down or admit when things feel heavy. In a world that rewards strength and self-reliance, it can be hard to ask for help or even know where to start.
JC offers a space where you can take a breath and sort through what’s really going on. Drawing from his experience as a father, entrepreneur, and former executive, he understands the unique stress men face balancing work, relationships, and purpose. JC works shoulder-to-shoulder with his clients—helping them find confidence and clarity in their lives.
For Women
Many women carry the weight of anxiety and depression—feelings that are completely human, yet often dismissed or hidden behind the pressure to appear “perfect.” The constant comparisons and expectations of modern life can make it hard to feel seen or understood.
JC offers a space where you can set those pressures down. With warmth and genuine curiosity, he helps women explore what success and happiness truly mean for them. JC doesn’t shy away from walking alongside his clients through the hard parts—he collaborates with you to uncover practical steps, new perspectives, and authentic ways to reclaim your voice, confidence, and sense of purpose.
Divorce Recovery Counseling
Having experienced divorce himself, JC knows firsthand how overwhelming this transition can be. The intense emotions, shifting family dynamics, and financial uncertainties can make life feel like it’s spinning out of control.
JC offers a strength-based approach, meeting clients where they are and helping create space for healing, clarity, and peace. Through guidance and support, he helps you navigate the challenges of divorce while discovering personal growth and resilience along the way. You don’t have to face this journey alone—JC can help you move forward and reclaim your life.
Co-Parenting & Family Therapy
Co-parenting is often one of the most challenging parts of the divorce process. You want what’s best for your children—and so does your co-parent—but conflicts can make it difficult to work together.
JC helps clients navigate this new dynamic by improving communication, building collaboration, and creating a more supportive environment for your kids. His goal is to reduce stress, increase stability, and foster happiness for your family. Divorce is hard, but with guidance, it’s possible to co-parent effectively and create a foundation that benefits both your children and your own peace of mind.
JC POHL – MY STORY
My journey hasn’t been a straight line. Married to my best friend in my 20s, I experienced the heartbreak of my first divorce. In my 30s, I married again, only to face even more shame in a second divorce. For a time, I nearly gave up on my dream of having a family.
A move to Austin became a turning point—a chance for personal healing and quiet hope. Through the magic of eHarmony, I met my wife, Callie, and today we share a life full of love, laughter, and adventure with our two boys, Austin and Avery.
I was resistant to counseling at first, but the guidance and insight I received from my own counselors became my navigational beacons through difficult times. That experience inspired me to earn my master’s in professional counseling from Texas State University and dedicate my life to helping others find their path.
After years working as a counselor and traveling to support students, parents, and families, I’ve learned I don’t have all the answers—but I am committed to helping you discover as many as possible.
If you’re struggling, in pain, or searching for direction, I’m here to walk alongside you. Let’s figure this out together.
